In medical research information is collected, such as information on how much muscle tissue you have in your body, for a number of individuals and then this information can be used to explore the medical area of interest. The area of maths that helps to collect, analysis and interpret such information is called statistics. I am a statistician and so I analysis the data that the clinical doctors have collected to help them understand more of the medical area of interest, and at the moment I work alongside a team which research all about our bones and muscles. For example, at the moment I am helping the clinical doctors I work with assess what affect the food we eat when we are younger has on how strong our bones are when we are older.
