• Question: why does 3D imaging help understand how our immune cells are involved in skin repair and wound healing?

      So at the moment one of the best ways to understand what is happening in skin repair is taking a small snapshots of what’s going on under the skin (immunohistochemistry). However this means that we are only looking at the damaged skin in a single time-point in a single slice (imagine one slice of bread in a whole loaf).

      However, with 3D imaging, I want to look at the whole wounded skin and watch the immune cells over time. This means we can see the whole thing in 3D, and in real-time. (Imagine being able to video the whole loaf, inside and out).
