I hate when that happens! Usually when its really quiet…

Your tummy growls as its busy digesting your last meal. It churns the food up and mixes it with digestive juices full of enzymes which help break the meal down. It also moves the food from your stomach down to the intestines and lower in the digestive track. As your digestive tract is moving everything around, pockets of gas can form and if they get squeezed that makes the noise you can hear! So a grumbly tummy can happen not just because you’re hungry but if the digestive tract is empty, the noises can be louder as there is more gas in there and less food.
