• Question: what was the funniest moment from your job?

      Probably when I forgot to turn on the gas to knock out my flies and tipped them out only to have 100 flies in and around my face. I mean I say this is funny, it was also kinda unpleasant!

      Ooh this is a good question! I can’t think of any specific moments, but I work closely with a group of ex-offenders on my research and those sessions always turn to be out quite fun – I’m sure I spend most of the sessions laughing haha

      Someone once set our bacteria room on fire! They had just sprayed the surfaces with ethanol to clean them and they managed to tip over the Bunsen burner which was alight. All the ethanol on the bench caught fire and they had to be really quick to stop anything else catching fire. It wasn’t funny at the time but we laugh about it now!

      Cant say we have had any fires, we have had a couple of floods though!

      Not sure i have a single funniest moment, but working with some of the public groups and panel members always brings with it interesting stories, as well as working with great collaborators who make me laugh
