      Great question, thanks James 🙂

When people talk about a “cure” (and I assume this includes you), they usually mean ‘can we make it go away?’ – maybe with a pill or surgery. Unfortunately, the short answer to this is no. There’s no current evidence for medicines or operations that can reliably get rid of tinnitus. However, there are evidence-based therapies that can change how people react to the sound. There are also sound generators available that can ‘mask’ a persons’ tinnitus. Hearing aids may even help some people with tinnitus if they have a hearing loss (even if it’s a very mild one). So although there’s no cure, there are plenty of options available to improve the situation. Anyone concerned should visit an audiologist to see how they can be helped.
