The Big Bang Theory had a scientific consultant working on the show, so the things they’re talking about have a good grounding in science. As with all science, the devil is in the details, so it’s understandably hard for them to do a “deep dive” into the nuances of all the topics they touch on 🙂
I know the show has scientific consultants, and the whiteboards they have with all the equations on them are real scientific formulas taken from real math and science projects. Personally i definitely relate to some of the characteristics in the people in myself and my friends 🙂
Firstly, this is a great show! I think it is pretty accurate, they work hard to make sure they’re not being factually incorrect. You know the actor who plays Amy is an actual neuroscientist in real life?
Okay so it does tend to be scientifically accurate. It’s not my favourite show as it doesn’t show animal research on monkeys that well – it’s really highly regulated in reality in the UK, and Amy would never just have a monkey sat on her desk/lab bench with electrodes on it :/ (sorry for being a party pooper, the physics is good but the animals not so much).
