      Hey Matt,
Hmm I’m not sure, probably my whole life if I kept working on it! I’ve been working for two years and my research has helped me to understand one part of how one particular disease spreads. Fortunately I’m not working by myself, there are thousands of scientists who study HIV (the virus that I study). Also as we get better technology and computer power we’ll be able to do research more quickly and learn much more about how diseases spread. I think in my lifetime though there will always be more research to do to understand about disease transmission, unless we find cures for all diseases (which could be possible one day, who knows).
      Thanks
      Leo
