Yes – there are lots of ways to prevent heart attacks. Heart attacks are caused by the heart not getting enough blood flow, due to blood vessels to the heart getting blocked. There are lots of ways to keep the heart system healthy, and these include things like having a healthy weight, eating well, not smoking, not drinking too much alcohol, and exercising regularly.
…and medicines, like aspirin and cholesterol-lowering drugs. Good control of other risk factors for heart attacks, like diabetes and high blood pressure is really important.
