• Question: Why can we hear a little voice in our head like when we think through conversations and things like that?

      A great question… I was also asked if deaf people hear a voice or see pictures… would love to know

      I often wonder about this, too! I think it is to do with the fact that “internal” word processing is controlled by the same processes as speaking, so we hear a voice as we read and think about things.

      I believe that we use a similar part of our brains for listening to outside things and then processing these internally. This article below has some more information:

      Internal thought is something i think everyone has had happen at some point thinking back to memories or trying to remember the past or plan your next steps, not quite sure what the explanation for this but very interesting to think on (maybe to listen to myself in my head later 😉 )
