• Question: Why are certain people attracted to certain people?

      No idea… some psychologists think that it is to do with symmetry of facial features.

      I’m not sure – I guess this is something that makes life and relationships interesting! Apparently we tend to be attracted to people we are familiar with though, or share common interests or background with.

      I always thought it has something to do with our pheromones. Pheromones are chemical messengers that are shared from a body into the environment. They are picked up by members of the same species and can activated certain responses like a change in behaviour- i.e attraction (or repulsion). Studies have shown that Humans (like other mammals) respond and produce pheromones. Its also been suggested that we are more attracted to pheromones that are distinct from our own as this shows any offspring would have genetic variation and a wider gene pool to select from.

      Not sure on the scientific reasons but some of it could be social conditioning or familiarity – not sure if there are specific theories or evidence around this
