The Tap polymerase. It is an enzyme from the bacteria Thermus aquaticus (!). I use it every day to copy DNA

I use lots of enzymes in my work but I would have to pick Amylase. It is found in our pancreas and involved in changing starch into sugars. Without it I wouldn’t be able to enjoy some tasty bread or have a beer after work 🙂

DNA Polymerase… couldn’t carry out PCR without it – would make my work difficult!
