Insects are pretty cool….I read a book recently about a group of people who got shrunk down and released into the rain forest. To them the insects became flying monsters that could scale terrain at great speeds, shoot acid out of their bums and paralyse their prey with nerve agents and poisons.
Obviously this was just a scary story but it did make me think about how well adapted insects are for what must be quite a challenging life! They’re also fascinating to look at under the microscope…

The naked mole rat – it never gets cancer, which is super fascinating! It isn’t the most beautiful animal though..

Wow that is such a difficult choice, as every time I watch a David Attenborough programme I find a different animal amazing. Although I have 2 chinchillas as pets and I find I sit and watch them for hours. They are a large fluffy rodent, and they have very nibble front paws which they are great at using to overcome challenges.

Not sure how I missed this question – I love animals!
Elephants are my favourite. They are super clever, big family-orientated units and have incredible memories.

This is really difficult as I’m a big animal lover so I can think of loads of animals I find interesting. If I had to pick one it would be the Common Octopus. I watched Blue Planet II and was fascinated by its behaviour. They are SO smart. They knew that if they were being eaten by a shark, if they put their tentacles into the sharks gills, the shark would have to let the octopus go so it could breathe! The octopus then covered itself in shells to provide camouflage so it looked liked a rock and the shark didn’t see it! Amazing!

When I was little I had a science book about animals that I absolutely adored. The one creature that stuck out to me most was the Jesus Christ Lizard (a Brown Basilisk), because it can actually run on water!!! It is not the most graceful creature while doing so, but I still to this day think it is amazing. It can do this because it is so light, and the scales on its’ feet make little webs that creates air bubbles – so if it moves quick enough it doesn’t sink!
