I’ve always been very scientific, but originally wanted to be a vet… I am now doing the best job in the world!

I have always liked science, really enjoyed the practicalities and learning about new things and proving/disproving ideas. There is always something new to learn and practice.

I always had an interest in science but I didn’t know that I wanted to become a scientist as a career until I went to university.

I actually wanted to be a lawyer when I was younger! Really wanted to be a judge and wear those big white wigs, bang a gavel and shout ‘ORDER IN THE COURTROOM!’. However, when I did my As/A levels, I really fell in love with Psychology and followed that route instead – and I am so glad I did. Now, I feel I can make an actual contribution to the world, discover new things, and keep on learning to become the best I can be 🙂

I think I’ve always been into asking questions about people, but it took me a long time to figure out that that’s what science was!
