I experience it sometimes – do you? completely freaky when you think “I’ve been here before” or “I know what happens next”… how it happens or why? not a clue!

Deja vu really freaks me out sometime!
Your brain is split into 2 sides- left and right. Each side is involved in doing different skills from the other side but they have to share the information. My understanding of what triggers deja vu is because there has been a delay between the 2 sides of your brain speaking to each other. Its only for a split second but 1 side of the brain would get the information twice so you feel like the event has happened before. Werid!

Yes, I also experience deja vu! Claire is right, it basically occurs from a delayed response in our brain when an activity/event is being stored in our memory. It doesn’t happen often, but it is freaky when it does!

Why Does It Happen?
Lauren commented on :
It occurs due to a delayed response in our brain when an activity/event is being stored in our memory 🙂 Because there is a delay between something being experienced and it being stored temporarily in our memory, it creates the eerie deja vu feeling of doing the same thing before!

what is deja vu
Lauren commented on :
Deja vu is the weird feeling you get when you think you have done something before, it is like you remember doing exactly the same thing you are doing at that moment. It happens incredibly quickly and not very often – it is seemingly completely random. However, I think only around 80% of people get it, so if you are unfamiliar with that feeling, then perhaps you are one of those people who don’t!
