I would like to work for an air plane or space company, testing the effects that jet engine exhaust or rocket fuel exhaust have on passengers. The job would involve lots of travel and some really cool experiments!

This is a great question! I would love to still be doing something science related, but I would really love it to incorporate travel. Seeing different countries, experiencing different cultures, and meeting new people is something I love most. If I can combine this and science, I would consider myself both lucky and successful!

I would be really happy to still be doing what I’m doing in 10 years time! I get to play around in the lab and learn new things, travel to exciting countries and meet interesting people and do things like ‘I’m a scientist’! In the future I’d like to be doing my public engagement (teaching people about my work and science in general) but also a bit of teaching at university level too.

I definitely still see myself working in data science in 10 years, the dream would be to have access to all the UK wide data in a secure and privacy protecting platform so that we can enable researchers and scientists to more readily investigate and improve all peoples health and well being through efficient systems and technology and work towards what some people have coined “precision medicine” which is a more targeted solution suitable to each individual

In ten years time I would be a specialist registrar (junior doctor) in respiratory medicine/paediatrics. This is still science-y, it’s medical and I would also like to combine it with research into lung disease/genetics.

Yes, it would be science related – in fact in ten years I would love to still be working in my Department where I am now, but I’d like to have made it to Professor 🙂

I hope I am still working in a job that involves science in some way.. my ideal job would be making documentaries for the BBC!

10 years time. Hmmm, not sure.
Some days I’m dead set on carrying on down academia and following an ambitious route towards being a lecturer, mentor and lab leader.
Other days I think that working in the media and science communication to build a stronger bridge between the two fields is the end goal.
Then some days, I think about opening a wee cafe on a Hawaiian beach.
