Hello, this is a very good and general question!

As you know the human body is made up of trillion of cells that work together for the maintenance of the entire organism. The process by which the body controls its internal environment are collectively called homeostasis. Homeostasis refers to stability, balance, or equilibrium within a cell or the body.

Medical Ilneses is an abnormal condition of a part, organ, or system of an organism resulting from various causes, such as infection, inflammation, environmental factors, or genetic defect (affecting the body homeostasis and the whole body may be affected) . A disease is any condition which results in the disorder of a structure or function in a living organism that is not due to any external injury. The study of disease is called pathology, which includes the study of cause.

The development of disease can follow different pathological ways; por example disease may be caused by external factors such as pathogens or by internal dysfucntions, particulary of the immune system. When some external factors affect the human body the immune system is the first battalion in charge to defend our body. In normal and healthy conditions the immune system will be able to clear up these pathogens, however if the immune system is affected for any reason (ie; immunodeficiency or genetic factors) the functions of the body will be affected (homeostasis process has to be adjsuted to this condition). The disease will cause pain, dysfunction, distress and in the worst of the cases will cause dead of the patient. The high knowledge of diseases from medical doctors and with the help of high technology we can diagnose on time certain diseases to stop them in early stages

On the other hand, there when we talk about cancer it is more complicated because cancer is caused for several external (radiation, pollution, etc) and internal (Genetic, mutations, etc) factors. And the development of any type of cancer is complex and we are still working to understand the development mechanisms. However for some type cancers we have more information as for example AML cancer is caused for mutations of important genes for the heamatopoitec development and mutations that affect the epigenetic regulatir mechanary and signalling molecules. However we need to perform more studies to find out more affceted mechanisms in this desiase.
