      Hi!

I am not working on that question but to my knowledge there is not yet any strong proof that video games make children more violent.

But Laura might have a more educated guess on that question 🙂

      Hi Wixie!

Actually, there is some evidence to suggest that violent video games might make people more aggressive. I’ve included a link below to a study which looked at all the evidence to date on this in 2001, to try and see what the main findings were. They found that children and young people who were exposed to violent video games showed heightened levels of aggression. However, as with anything in life, not everybody will be affected by things in the same way. So some people may play violent games and not become aggressive. It’s important to consider what other things might be associated with this – e.g. are people who play violent games already more prone to be aggressive than people who choose not to play these games? Are people who play these games getting less sleep as a result of the stimulation and therefore more aggressive? These are all things that research can try to answer, so we can understand a little bit more how violent video games might relate to aggression.
