      Hello Laura,

      People often think that a trauma or injury to a bone or their bodies can cause cancer. But research does not support this.

      In very few cases an injury will cause swelling, which when investigated, shows up cancer that was already there. In these cases, doctors may then spot an unrelated tumour (cancer) when they are investigating an injury.
